Does FC5 correctly detect your graphics card and monitor?

My Graphics card is detected well. But it is unable to detect my correct monitor. But I have edited the xorg.conf file and made all the necessary changes of horizontal and vertical sync.

Have you tried using the config controls on the monitor itself. You could shift the screen to the correcrt position and then save.

That can happen to any monitor. I used to connect my old XP box to a Dell monitor. I then unplugged the XP box and plugged an FC4 box to the monitor. Even at the same resolution, the display from FC4 was shifted quite a bit to the left. I was able to use the monitor's auto adjust feature to correct the problem, though.

On using the ajustment button of my monitor, I can get the image in centre. But can anyone tell what could be the real problem?

What makes you think there in fact is a "real" problem? The auto adjust button on a monitor is there for a reason.
