Hi all, i'm new to Fedora Core and linux in general and i'm having a problem with the installation! any help will be most appreciated!

I have just installed fedora core 5 on a clean hard drive on an IBM R52 laptop.
Intel Mobility Chip 1.73Ghz,
1GB DDR2 4200 RAM,
60GB HDD,
ATI x300 64MB Video Card,

I set up the hard drive using cfdisk and set up the partitions as follows,

100MB /boot
10000MB /
100MB /tmp
49000MB /home

I also made these drives Reiserfs format.

I continued the setup and customised the installation software to use kde as the gui, and setup the other software i needed, it installed fine and finished and then i removed the dvd and rebooted the system. the system rebooted and started up fine, and then the following error appeared:

/sbin/consoletype error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: permission denied

this happens through out the startup and has a very long pause at where the system is starting up the system logger and then after this time is goes through a couple more system startup checks and then just screen dumps a load of random garbage onto the screen and then stops!

any help/ideas please let me know Cypher
