Hullo,

I'm attempting to install FC5 on my brother's brand new computer and am having great difficulty.

He tried installing WinXP, but that particular copy of XP had been overused as an install disc.

So I tried using the graphical install, chose to delete all partitions and start over. I got a message telling me to unmount the CD-ROM drive and to push the OK button when that was complete. My problem is that I am unable to enter any commands while this message is on-screen, and if I press the OK button, it just pops right back up.

I attempted again, and got to the "filling bar" part of the installation, but the system just sort of hung there.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Aloha,
I am not sure I understand exactly what is going on here for you. Have you read the Installation Guide at fedora.redhat.com ? Perhaps elaborating some more on what is happening when you try to install.
