Hi I'm having trouble getting dual head to work.
my xorg.conf file looks like this:
http://linpaste.efnet-linux.com:7000/55
could you tell me if you can see anything wrong?
i can only get it to work as clone right now.
i can get it to work as clone but it refuses to let me span desktops. or it spans desktop in that the cursor can move to the other monitor but there is nothing there. the first monitor i can drag things over to some hidden space.
also here is my x /var/log/ http://linpaste.efnet-linux.com:7000/56
isee it says 1:0:1 is detected but no config for it
No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found
RADEON(0): Failed to detect secondary monitor, MergedFB/Clone mode disabled
thank you.

I'd be curious to know whether this is with x86_64 as I'm getting the same problem with my set up. Mine worked perfectly with FC3/4/5 on i386, but broke the minute I went x86_64 on FC5
I have:
nvidia GeForce FX 5700
S3 Inc. ViRGE/DX or /GX
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+
My xorg.conf --> http://pastebin.com/730884
and /var/log/Xorg.0.log --> http://pastebin.com/730883
Have asked in #fedora, #nvidia and #xorg without sucess.
Any ideas?

I suspect that the new drivers from nVidia may help, but I've yet to work out how to install them myself because they won't install with X11 running, and I cant figure out how to get the command prompt, and then how to get the file to run (spot the noobie!) If they do solve your problems though please let me know (I have a 6600GT with dual CRT setup)

I forgot to mention I'm already running kmod-nvidia-1.0.8762-1.2.6.16_1.2122_FC5 (and tried the nvidia binaries from their site) which I believe is the latest, with no luck.
If you want the nvidia kernel module you need to enable the livna repository and then install kmod-nvidia as below:
yum --enablerepo=livna-testing --enablerepo=updates-testing install kmod-nvidia
Unfortunately it still doesn't fix the problem.

hi. i got it to work at last :)
i'm not sure if this is all i did but i reinstalled fedora so that probably sorted something possibly the drivers. then I changed the card in primary and secondary both to the same pci and it worked. i set them both to "PCI:1:0:0" instead of the secondary as 1:0:1. my card is ati as you can see. i'll repost my xorg.conf as this now works but i have no idea if it helps you at all. i hope so: http://linpaste.efnet-linux.com:7000/81
also its i386 and i see you have your bus id's set differently and different drivers for each thats about all.

Finally got mine working too, using both outputs on the GeForceFX 5700 instead of 2 cards (that continues to give errors). Interestingly I did a complete rebuild too.
I've attached my working xorg.conf if it helps anyone else.
