I've been having a lot of problems accessing the board the last two days. It seems to go into a loop. I've experienced this on two machines, one running Fedora 4 and another running Fedora 5. Also while being logged on, and logged off. I'm including a dump done with ethereal.

So you accessed index.php 60 times in 11 seconds?

I notice quite a few TCP ACKed lost segment. So you are not getting the full transmission. I would check your router and your network card for dropped packets or other errors.

Is this problem exclusive to fedoraforum.org? I've seen no error like this.

I have three machines hooked up through my router. I'm only experiencing this on 2 of them. Really weird! Not showing any errors with ifconfig.

It's only happening on the fedoraforum site too.

Maybe it's due to the NSA's bugging machines. I know they're are a bunch of people who consider Linux synonymous with communism. I hope they're thoroughly bored.

Actually, I am seeing some errors on the router but not that many.

I'm getting it to. Multiple connection resets and sometimes can't post. Ping seems fine with no dropped packets though I can't do a traceroute. It's only fedoraforum that's affected.

Thanks, now I don't feel so alone.

I have the same on windoze machine. The problem seems to appear on the apache side as network sniffing shows loop as follows:

Request:

Same here, unfortunately...

It doesn't seem so bad at the moment but it's still there. I've also noticed that some of the forum buttons have disappeared on the message form. Related?

I'm in trouble accessing RSS-newsfeed from fedoraforum. Here an message from my RSS-reader:

Reason: Unable to locate that file. . Circular redirect to 'http://www.fedoraforum.org:80/forum
Status: HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily

Actually, now that you mention it, I recall it started to act strange (looping) right after I added RSS feeds to my bookmarks. Now I have removed it (not working), but the problem is still there (or at least it was last night at home).

Actually one of my previous posts might have been generated by proxy server.
So I did test on the machine which should connect to fedoraforum directly:

xxxxx@xxxxx:~> telnet forums.fedoraforum.org 80
Trying 70.85.88.134...
Connected to forums.fedoraforum.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
GET /showthread.php?t=109416 HTTP/1.1
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Content-Length: 0
Location: /showthread.php?t=109416?ebc42f10
Connection closed by foreign host.
xxxxx@xxxxx:~> telnet forums.fedoraforum.org 80
Trying 70.85.88.134...
Connected to forums.fedoraforum.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
GET /showthread.php?t=109416?ebc42f10 HTTP/1.1
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Content-Length: 0
Location: /showthread.php?t=109416
Connection closed by foreign host.
xxxxx@xxxxx:~>

Maybe this will help. Note that first invocation goes to /showthread.php?t=109416
and redirects to /showthread.php?t=109416?ebc42f10, the second reverses this,
so we have nice bouncing...

Does fedoraforum use clustering?

Finally I can get logged in. I have not been able to login without a connection reset error all day today.

Well, apparently changing resolver in /etc/resolv.conf solved the problem. I reckon clearing the cache of my DNS server would have done the trick too, but I am just too lazy to restart the machine right now... :)
P.S. No, clearing named cache didn't work... now I am really puzzled

It seems to be better at present and I notice that the buttons are back and some posts have been binned. Server issue?

I too have been having problems, without having enabled any RSS feed.
Yesterday and today I was getting some form of loop just trying to get to the forums site - on another PC I was being told that federaforum.org did not seem to exist as working entity
