what window manager are you using? in KDE you can use ksnapshot

For GNOME there are two methods:

Graphics -> Screen Capture Program (which is ksnapshot as mentioned by tux)
press the Print Screen key on your keyboard which pops up GNOME's screen capture program

Actually, you could add the little screen capture applet to the taskbar by right-clicking the taskbar then Add to panel -> Actions -> Screenshot. Then it's just a matter of clicking the applet button and up pops a screen shot which you can save!
Hope to see your (more interesting than mine) desktops soon! :)

You can also open up gimp->file->aquire->screenshot

allows you to select one frame or the entire screen;)

Ok, there's a couple of ways, but here's the method I use:
Log out of your X session back to the gdm login screen.
Then switch to a VT using Ctrl + leftAlt + F6 ( or any from F1 - F6). This is assuming your X session is on VT7.
Login as user and `su -` to root. Then issue this command line:

chvt 7 ; sleep 5 ; XAUTHORITY=/var/gdm/:0.Xauth DISPLAY=:0.0 import -window root /tmp/gdm-shot.png

This is again assuming a couple things. First that your authority file is located under /var/gdm. (ls /var/gdm to check) and second that your $DISPLAY variable is the first server on the first monitor. (echo $DISPLAY to check)
If all goes well you should have an PNG screenshot of th gdm login screen in /tmp. :)

Melio,

It's called gkrellm. Get it here:
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/fedora/linux/1/gkrellm/
Or if you have freshrpms in your yum.conf then simply `yum install gkrellm`.

Well there isn't much visible desktop difference between FC1 and FC2 test 1, but I have put up a FC2 test 1 desktop image using KDE :)

Why are some of the images in the Gallery displaying as blank white boxes, but if you click them, then you get the actual image?

Any idea why this is happening now, or is this something that only I am seeing - is this a problem with my firefox install?
