I think there are a nasty error with one instalation script in ppc architecture.

This error mess /boot directory, erasing the files located in.

The first time I installed packages and dissapear the files I thought was my fault, but in the second machine happens exactly the same. Please packagers, check the scripts because the bug make ppc machines unstartable.

possible packages with the bug:

fetchmail
dbus*
csscope

i think the error is in fetchmail but not sure

You suspect an error in an rpm script? Can you check the spec file and see if you can find these dangerous commands? http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/rpms/

I don't have experience in how packages are built. By this I post the message and don't check myself. I saw in the URL but can't locate the instalation script. Sorry about that.

Narrowing this problem down to a few packages known to berak things would help. Test those packages individually until you are sure. Then file a bug (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugsAndFeatureRequests).
