Anyone had problems booting after installing the latest download of the Kernel? I did an update this morning May 4. The system was working fine before the system update. when rebooting, I appear to go OK, until I get to the black screen with the X and it stops there. Doesn't freeze, just doesn't move further. I have been able to reboot and use the previous Kernel with no problems.

I'm using a plain Jane 1.7 Gig AMD, 1 cd player, CD burner, floppy, 80 gig hard drive, built in sound card that works fine. System has 500Meg on the MB. Pretty simple system. Never had problems installing updates to this point.

There's another thread about this, but the solution appears to be to edit 'boot/grub/grub.conf' and remove the 'rhgb quiet' from the end of the kernel.

use your old Kernel, it should still be in your grub menu (providing you did not delete it). When your grub screen comes up press any key and you will see it listed.

Since the other thread is quite detailed: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=107847, I'm closing other ones on the same subject and referring all discussions back to it.
