Argghhhh, I can get so frustrated sometimes with Fedora.
I was doing some testing yesterday on my box and the newest kernel was 2096 and I was able to go over the Stanton Finley guide, get the Nvidia drivers, it installed just fine and all was well.
Tonight, I put in my "real" hard drive, overwrote my FC4 config and then follwed the stanton finley guide. When I got to the Nvidia section, it updated my kernel to 2107 and the system no longer booted. See this thread for more info http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=107847
So, any suggestions as to how to get my Nvidia drivers installed from RPM from the livna site, but without getting the new kernel?????
I tried to NVIDIA driver straight from NVIDIA.com, but x fails to start and says nvidia and glx are not present. This is the method I used with FC4, but it doesn't seem to work so well with FC5.
Any ideas?
