When I starts the network using.
# /etc/rc.d/init.d/network start

It hangs the kernel. It happens consistently. My motherboard is A7V233.
By default I have disabled the network.

I upgraded to recent kernel but it didn't help. On the same machine, on FC3 works fine. Previously on the same machine FC2, RH 8,9 always worked fine.

Will upgrading any packages help? I don't think so? I upgraded the kernel though?

I'm curious whether you have more than one network device. If so, perhaps only one of them hangs the system.

No, I have single network card. I will provide the card info tommorow.
As far as I know network driver is part of the kernel (rpm) (dynamically loaded module) so updating the kernel rpm should fix the issue. I am waiting for new kernel update. After that it may fix my problem.
