Hello,
I recently joined a friends company to help him run it. And his IT setup is retarded. He's in the Jewelry business. He has 7 employees. He sells retail online, and wholesale. He is working off a hosted solutions now, but eventually will have to get his own servers. His business will grow pretty fast if he just takes care of his IT issues. So scalibility is a must.
My basic question is what would be the best....
Server/PC/Mobile/Networking/etc
Hardware/Software/Services/Support
Solution
What he needs are
Web serving
eCommerce serving
Databases
CRM
Financial Tracking
Communications/Collaboration (Email, VOIP, Project managment, Portal)
Smartphone sync
Desktop Managment
Networking/File/Printer
and a few other things that dont come to mind rite away
His hosted solutions are suitable for now, but not for long, and this deployment will be gradual not instantanios.
So what companies do you suggest i should turn to for good intergrated solutions.
Also, do you think OSS would be better than Microsoft, if so why.
