hey I'm can't get videos to play in anything can someone help me thanks.
totem says
Totem could not startup.
Could not open resource for writing.

Normally, users are not allowed to access the sound device unless they are in the proper group.
Check permissions on the audio device in /dev/snd to see what group can write to audio. It will probably be the group 'audio'
# ls -l /dev/snd
Add your login into that group via /etc/groups or whatever config platform you use.
relogin and .. bam!

general concensus seems to be that totem sucks.
go to stanton finley's site and install mplayer or zine. i use mplayer and love it.
