Hi all,
I need to install madwifi for my wireless card. I know it is pretty easy to do that with yum however I only have wireless connection in my new house. So the only connection I have is on my windows computer.

What I need to do is downloading madwifi rpm which I cant find :) and burn them onto cd for the installation of my wireless card on FC5.

Thanks in advanca

p.s. I've just moved this apartment and unfortunately stealing little bandwith from my neighboors til i get my own cable service :) So it is not something I do all the time.

I'm having the same problem. :(

But here is what I found.

Downloading .rpms

For Fedora Core and RHEL see also UserDocs/Distro/RedHat

* madwifi-old: ATrpms has madwifi-old rpm support for Fedora Core, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Linux.

* madwifi-ng: ATrpms has madwifi-ng rpm support for Fedora Core, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Linux.

* Fedora users: Livna has madwifi RPMs for Fedora Core 4 and onwards. For Fedora Core 4, they are using madwifi-old ; madwifi-ng is used for Fedora Core 5.

I'm still a noob so I'm not sure which .rpm I need. I'm guessing I look for the one that matches my kernal.

I'm running FC4 on my Dell J650GT laptop (OLD, I know! :) )

This is a really good walk-thru for installing madwifi.

Edit: Well, I got my ethernet card to work and I updated my kernal and dependencies. Then I used the above thread to install madwifi. :D
