For Linux I would stick with an NVIDIA card. Can get an FX5500 for less than $40 at NewEgg

Here is a GeForce 6200 AGP for about $50 with shipping

I just bought a new nVidia card. I like their Linux support. ATI users seem to have more issues with Linux, judging by the posts I've seen.

Yes, ATi is a good brand but many many problems in terms of support & bugs. I'd definetly go Nvidia -- And if you want just some basic gaming, nothing too much a 128MB card will be great & cheap. I can play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 almost max quality on my 64MB card, (MMX 400 integrated, 4 years old!) so 128 will be plenty. For reference, RCT3 is a complete 3D game that's CPU and GPU intensive...

the FX5500 worked great on the old board and FC4, I upgraded to a Abit UL8 and now seem to be having problem. still working on the drivers.
