The test 2 cdrom will not boot. The boot.img in the image directory can be burned to a disc and booted, but it has no cdrom drivers. Any suggestions?

Any how I am now re-booting into Core 2 Test 2 for the first time
.........maybe.........X is having some kind of problem starting....turning off computer... and try starting again. Update you soon
ERROR MSG:
_XSERTransSocketCreateListener: fialed to bind listener
_XSERVTransSocketUNIXCreateListener: ...SocketCreateListener() failed
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners?
well I guess I took too long finishing the last error message, it is now trying to continue to boot. Any Ideas?

Haven't seem that problem before, definitely X related though. Did these messages only appear on boot after installing test2? If so, first check dmesg output for any "avc denied" errors. If any, you may have a SELinux conflict. Post the avc messages with contexts to the fedora-selinux-list. If no avc messages, but problem only occurred after t2 install, file a Bugzilla report.
BTW all: The current workaround for all those having problems booting off test2 CDs is to as mentioned above, to use a test1 or core1 CD to boot to the prompt. Then swap it out and put test2 CD1 in and it should continue through the installtion fine from that point.

The error poped up when doing the first boot after installation.
I am trying to do a clean install.
using disk 1 of test 1 then switching the media to test 2.
I do see "avc errors" scrolling on the screen

after disableing the SELinux (from the Firewall install screen) I am now able to boot, still cannot access the internet. I recall an issue with core 2 test 1.... I will check into it.....Brute force can make this work!!!!:)

I am now applying updates via "up2date" I am going to apply the kernel updates now, then come back for the rest. I have not update yum.conf at this point. My speakers are working, the volume is NOT set to minimum in the .ISO install!!

During the install I was not able to set the time server (clock.redhat.com) I am still no tsure exactally what I did to get the network connecting to the internet othe r than restarting network service, but is is still working even after a re-boot.
I am still DL'ing the kernel updates at this time. You should see I will spout out if I think of anything else:)

Try "yum --exclude=gimp --exclude=gimp-devel update"
The latest rawhide gimp package accidently wasn't compiled with libgimp* as a dependency. See: http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-test-list/2004-March/msg02384.html

ok ... I have a different group of problems. I had the same gimp issues so I ran the command as above but here's what I got
"Package dvgrab needs libdv.so.2, this is not available.
Package pwlib needs libdv.so.2, this is not available.
Package xemacs needs libRKC.so.1.2, this is not available.
Package xemacs needs libcanna.so.1.2, this is not available.
Package nvi-m17n-canna needs libcanna.so.1.2, this is not available."
So I ran same as above but with the excludes for the problem packages listed ... like this
"yum --exclude=gimp --exclude=gimp-devel --exclude=dvgrab --exclude=pwlib --exclude=xemacs --exclude=nvi-m17n-canna update"
and I still get the same result ... anyone else see this??

Yes, I have switched over to using "up2date" since it seems that it now uses a list of mirrors instead of a static address, and the speed seems much better. I am still running into dep. errors there, I figure that they will get those errors cleared up shortly.

Guys, these problems are from out of sync mirrors. Old headers are being used in the updates causing all sorts of confusions..
Basically, you can wait for your favourite mirror to catch up or find one that is. If you can't then try the RedHat master ( !).
