Hi,

sorry for my poor english. I have problems with my HP PSC 1510 Printer/Scanner on Fedora Core 4. And I'm very new with Linux.

1. The printer is ok, but i can't find the Fast Draft print options, so I loose a lot of ink.

2. The scanner is not ok. I have no scanner right now. I don't know how to install...

Your english is fine, donīt worry about it.
My advice is to switch to Fedora Core 5 as soon as possible as the HP PSC 1510 is detected correctly (I know because I also have one).
Since you still have FC4 you should install "hplip" from the repositories, through the command "#yum install hplip".
You also have to allow, as far as I remember, the "cupsd daemon" on "SELinux" (you'll have to search for it in the options).

After that go to this page "http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/step4/index.html". You'll learn how to configure the printer. I have only tried the "CUPS web interface method".

As I have said in the beginning, on FC5 this is much simpler...

I hope this can help you.

Thank you, but for the scanner.

P.S.: Let's see all about FC 5...

To use the scanner you can use "xsane".
