mustek 1200 ub plus + fedora 5

i ditched linux in june last year cos i began to get too stressed out learning it. But having hand windows on for the last 8 or 9 months i relised why i went to linux in the first place. So hear i am back on linux having just installed FEDORA CORE 5. And yes im going to stick at it. i've got to (im trying to learn html) at the same time.

Ive got a couple of problems though
1= im trying to set up my scanner, its a mustek 1200 ub plus via usb

2=i trying to set up my network, through a router my other computers are my daughters both running windows xp pro

any help appreciated

Hi,
1) Yesterday I've cange my System from Suse10 to Fedora5 because the security and the hardware detection is much better. At the Suse System there was no Problem to work with the Win-Driver (from the Installation CD). I think there is the same way at FC5. I will Post as soon as possible.
2) Please give more Information abut the System. Do you have 4 PC - 3 Workstation and 1 Server ? Than work with samba.

After fixing the driver u should be able to scan in images using the Gimp.

Create a seperate thread for topic 2 about your network. It is not a good idea to put 2 unrelated topics in the same thread.

I have also Mustek 1200 Plus and so far did not find the drivers...but the link above looks like broken...
Appeciate any hint regarding the scanner installation

Your scanner is from the same family as mine. Even if the driver is different than the procedure I outlined will be the same. If the driver i provide dont work u will need to obtain the windows driver (easy to find) and then yank out the file u need.
