I installed FC5 about a week ago and have been experiencing X crashes about every other day. The last message from Xorg.0.log is:

pgetbl_ctl: 0x1f880001 pgetbl_err: 0x17b7b000
ipeir: 0 iphdr: 50c00004
LP ring tail: 7f00 head: 7908 len: f001 start 580000

instdone: ff3a instpm: 0
memmode: 4 instps: 810
hwstam: 9ac7 ier: 0 imr: 9ac7 iir: 0

Fatal server error:
Active ring not flushed

I've found the offending bug here:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org//show_bug.cgi?id=5443

So, I know that a fix is in the works. I am just curious if any FC developers are reading and can provide a timeline for an updated package?

I might go with recompiling X myself if it is a long way off.

Thanks!

... i have the same problem, also with an i810. i would be really grateful if there were an official patch, nicely packaged :-)

I've filed a bug with RedHat:

I'm having the same problem. I have an i810 = Intel Corp 82810E DC-133 CGC . And when Ananconda trying to start I've gotten active ring not flushed in other occasions but mainly is Invalid Mem Allocation

This post https://bugs.freedesktop.org//show_bug.cgi?id=5443 seems to have the same problem too
