Hi,

I have just installed fedora core 5 and I am trying to install the drivers for my ati mobility raedon x700 card. With fedora core 4 This was a piece of cake...
Well I have downloaded the newest drivers from ati.com and tried to install them. This was the message i got while installing it:

Detected configuration:
Architecture: i686 (32-bit)
X Server: Xorg 7.0.0

Detected version of X does not have a matching 'x700' directory
You may override the detected version using the following syntax:
X_VERSION=<xdir> ./ati-driver-installer-<ver>-<arch>.run [--install]

I have got no clue what I should do next.. i am new to linux. Please help!

Same here, guys...and since I make my own kernel, livna is no help for me (plus it does not have the rpm for stock kenrels yet)

You can't use the driver from ATI's website because it doesnt support Xorg 7.0

Follow this tutorial on how to download the drivers from livna and then rebuild them for your kernel
