If there is no setting in your bios, how do you go about disabling fast writes with Fedora Core 5?
I am using an ATI X800XL with the newest fglrx drivers. Thanks!

Is there an option in the Xorg.conf that i'm overlooking? I seem to recall looking at a bios looking kind of thing for my kernel one time. I can't recall how to get to that, maybe its in there?
Any help would be great!

Any help would be great!Google, as usual, is your friend: [HOWTO] Disabling Fast Writes (http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33793288)
That info might be obsolete though, since it's ~1.5 years old. YMMV.
However, I'm sure there's a BIOS option for enabling/disabling AGP Fast Writes. What exact motherboard maker and model is it? Be very specific.

I couldn't find the FastWrites option for the life of me. I'm not a big fan of intel motherboards :(

Also, I actually came across that very same page before posting here. The problem that I ran into is that I don't understand this line here.
"You can verify that FW is disabled by looking at your kernel messages for the line:"
How do you check your "kernel messages"?

I couldn't find the FastWrites option for the life of me.No kidding? It's a PCI-Express motherboard. It has no AGP. Therefore, looking for a way to disable AGP Fast Writes is an exercise in futility.
Case closed, I'd say :D

Good point, it is a PCI-E X800XL. I didn't even think --AGP-- Fast Writes... haha.
