I heard one of the big deals in FC5 woudl be kernel level support for the Broadcom 4300 series. Well, I installed tonight, and the GA version did the same as the Test 3 version of FC5... lspci sees my Broadcom 4306, but interface no workie.

I had NDISwrapper working and certainly could again, but is there any news on Broadcom support in the kernel?. I did some cursory searched to no avail.

I tried myself and eventually went to the ndiswrapper driver, and I'm up and working fines. I did notice that it detected my wireless card, but I could not actually use it. Still a step up from FC4.

Has Broadcom 43xx support been abandoned? I have looked... I had hoped some subsequent kernels would get my Broadcom 4306 working... but no such luck...

Just the other day I was at the project website for native Broadcom 43xx support. They show the development at 75% done. Another post at one of the other distro's forums stated that there would be kernel level support for Broadcom 43xx in kernel 2.6.17. Quite frankly, I'm hoping Linus Torvalds and his crew get kernel 3.0 out to solve a bunch of wireless issues. It seems they are focusing on these as a major issue for the next kernel. We can only wait and see.
