Hi to all.
I have a system with an highpoint 1640 controller and 2HDD in raid 0.
I had installed FC4, and when FC5 was released i got it to upgrade the system.
At first all seem to be good, i mean FC5 should have an integrated driver for HPT37x (dmraid)
and anaconda works fine, and on the installer page i see my raid disk. When i did try to update the existing FC4, i get the first problem:on FC4 the device was installed as /dev/sda ,cause i used the highpoint driver.Anaconda, instead, install dhe device as /dev/mapper/gldxxxxx.Cause of that i was unable to upgrade, because the installer can't find root dir and swap, rebooting the system.
On that point i decide to back up my files, and install a new copy of FC5.
All in the installation goes right, but after installation is done, i reboot and on boot, when the kernel is going up,i get an error as:

I/O error on hde block8000 etc.........
........................................

and so on!
Itried to rescue the system, and the rescue prog can mount the just-installed FC5!!!!
I can't understand why the array can be mounted from an external OS, but can't boot up itself....
Also i discovered that FC5 support 2 highpoint modules, hpt 37x and hpt45x.My card should have the first, for some reason system load the hpt45x.
I though if i can change to the right module (hpt37x) but how i can change the module that is loaded on boot?
Maybe i should wait some information from highpoint......
Thanx to all for patient
Bye Alessandro
